High School Diploma Program
AWA offers 2 High School Diploma programs. Students have the option of choosing either the College Preparatory Program (18 credits) or the General Studies Program (16 credits). Each course is worth one credit.
COLLEGE PREPARATORY PROGRAM: This is an 18 credit program. Students will be provided with all study material required for each course. Each course will be concluded with a course exam to ensure understanding of course materials. Students must complete: 4 English courses, 3 Math courses (Algebra 1&2, and Geometry), 3 Natural Science courses, 4 Social Studies courses (i.e. World History, American History, American Government, and Economics), 2 Foreign Language courses, 1 Consumer Skills course, 1 Personal Health course.
GENERAL STUDIES PROGRAM: This is a 16 credit program. Students will be provided with all study material required for each course. Each course will be concluded with a course exam to ensure understanding of course materials. Students must complete: 4 English courses, 2 Math courses (Business Math and Consumer Math), 2 Natural Science courses, 4 Social Studies courses (i.e. World History, American History, American Government, and Economics), 1 Consumer Skills course, 1 Personal Health course and 2 electives.
CREDIT RECOVERY PROGRAM: Students can take credits from AWA and transfer them back to the secondary institution (i.e. High School) that he or she currently attends. The student bears the responsibility to ensure that credits will be accepted and approved prior to enrolling into American Worldwide Academy.
